John Williams
Principal

Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Williams worked on behalf of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS).  The AAO-HNS is the world’s largest organization (12,000 otolaryngologist – head and neck surgeons) representing specialty care physicians treating disorders of the ears, nose and throat.  Serving as Senior Director for Advocacy, Health Policy and Government Affairs and as Director of its political action committee, Mr. Williams was responsible for opening their Washington office and establishing their national political action committee, ENT PAC. 

Prior to representing the AAO-HNS, Mr. Williams worked for the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers where he served as a Washington Representative.  The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers is the premier association for commercial insurance and employee benefit intermediaries in the United States and abroad.  The Council’s members in more that 3,000 locations, place 80 percent –well over $90 billion—of all U.S. insurance products and services protecting business, industry, government and the public at large , and they administer billions of dollars in employee benefits.  He served as their Washington Representative.

Mr. Williams has significant experience in government relations, lobbying, grassroots and strategic operations/planning.  He was responsible for a number of legislative successes throughout his career on issues such as physician payment, medical liability, patient’s bill of rights, health care provider scope of practice, bank powers, property and casualty/flood insurance and appropriations activities.

Mr. Williams began his career in politics working on Capitol Hill for Congressman Chester G. Atkins (D-MA) who served the fifth district of Massachusetts from 1984 to 1992.  Mr. Williams also worked for a number of financial institutions and local town communities. 

Mr. Williams is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he received his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
